Since the onset of the pandemic, the idea of liminal space has been a theme to which I have been responding to in a variety of ways in my studio practice as a maker and through other projects as a curator/producer. The newspaper Liminal Times is a sort of lockdown diary which quotes ‘our world is framed by windows gates and doorways’ and features a series of images of the everyday partitions and boundaries now suddenly seen in a new light. This has been a jumping off point for various other works in progress.

Meadhbh McIlgorm is a mixed-media artist/maker. She studied Craft Design and History of Art at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, specialising in glass and graduating in 2013 with honours. She received the DCCoI Future Makers Student Award (2013) and has shown work in several national group exhibitions including the Irish Glass Biennale (2019), RDS Craft Awards, Sculpture in Context (2014), and ‘Solas’ (Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Waterford, 2015/16). Originally from Dublin, she has been living and working in Belfast since 2015 and is a member at QSS artists studios.
