Robert Peters Inheritance

£80.00

“Inheritance” is an archival inkjet print, in which the portrait of Richard Wallace is combined with portraits of the 3rd and 4th Marquess of Hertford. How much does genetics play in our character. The stark differences in attitude between each would seem to answer the question, does extreme wealth corrupt, or heighten, pre-existing tendencies. With historical examples from Caligula, to the Hellfire Club to Epstein and Weinstein the worst features of corruption are on display. Philanthropists such as Chuck Feeney or Warren Buffet would suggest other character traits can prevail. Though the question, should a small percentage of people own the larger percentage of wealth, is left hanging.
