The Exhibition
With ‘Creating Together’ R-Space Gallery showcases and celebrates the work and achievements of all the groups who took part in the outreach programme this autumn. Participants across communities in Lisburn enjoyed getting creative together and making their very own artistic pieces - from illustrated books to paintings, drawings, and craft objects.
R-Space greatly valued working with Action Mental Health, Lisburn Downtown Centre, Perfectly Prideful, Pink Elephant. Resurgam Development Trust, Resurgam Youth Initiative, Stepping Stones Youth Service and the YMCA. These collaborations ensured the programme engaged and supported those most in need and those with low engagement in the arts, across all abilities and backgrounds.
Participants’ comments highlighted their positive experience of the projects, as taking part helped them to explore and enhance their creativity within a group, and contributed to their personal enrichment and wellbeing.
All projects were facilitated by professional artists who guided and encouraged the groups throughout their creative journey - Andrew Cooke, Heather Douglas, Robert Peters and Sally Young,
We hope this exhibition will inspire visitors to get creative and enjoy the arts.
