Phase 1: 2 days weekly June 2017 – November 2017 (6 months)
Phase 2: Dec 2017 – November 2018 Full time (funding dependent)
Purpose of contract:
To lead the development, delivery & evaluation of THE ART OF LINEN Northern Ireland’s first Linen Biennale 2018.
The post holder would:
Work alongside the small, dedicated team at R-space and
(i) Compile and submit funding applications & explore sponsorship opportunities
(ii) Manage and maintain all the administrative and production aspects of the Linen Biennale: files, accounts, policies, communications, finance (incl spreadsheets), reports, minutes, contracts and databases.
(iii) Be responsible for the continuing development, production and delivery of events, exhibitions and workshops.
(iv) Contribute to the strategic research to establish creative partnerships province wide.
(v) Manage & complete the evaluation to inform the second Biennale in 2020.
The post holder would also be required to:
(i) Travel to on-site inspections and project manage events
(ii) Liaise with artists, contributors and venues
(iii) Manage the marketing and publicity around all events
(iv) Report to the R-Space Board
Person Specification
The successful applicant will have actual and demonstrable experience in the following areas: (i) Fundraising (ii) Event / Festival management (iii) Project and people management (iv) Arts & Culture sector or visitor attraction venue (v) Interest or knowledge of textiles / linen (vi) Comprehensive IT skills including professional experience in the use of of all Microsoft packages.
Have access to a car or other means of transport.
