Involving a unique collaboration between International and Northern Irish artists, ELEMENTALS Birds features over 50 artists working in every medium including sculpture, music and print.
Exhibition originators, Inga and Andy Hamilton, based in Bangor, Northern Ireland, returned from curating ELEMENTALS Birds as the inaugural exhibition at the Richard F. Brush Gallery, St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.
Artist and organiser, Inga Hamilton, expressed her delight when describing the previous show. “There were two large galleries, filled with bird artwork, fluttering into people’s hearts and affections. Professors on their way to work changed their daily routine to take in the tranquillity emanating from the tiny sculptures, whilst local people found wonder and comfort alike in small bird sculptures appearing overnight in public spaces.” Andy added, “We value all the artwork and contributions to this exhibition so much. Each piece attempts to physically embody feelings of goodwill, peace and harmony. These established artists chose to stretch themselves for ELEMENTALS Birds, challenging their practice in order to embrace the brief and sharing their personal stories through the birds they created.”
